Activities
Getting active doesn’t have to mean endless hours in the great
outdoors, as Belfast offers a host of alternative activities that
are just as much fun! Play on some of the world’s most famous golf
courses on a virtual golf facility at Citigolf, or practice your
swing while avoiding the cannons at Pirates Adventure Golf. Get
your skates on at Northern Ireland’s premier ice rink or for the
more competitive, why not shoot some pool, or go for a strike at
one of Belfast’s state of the art bowling alleys. Or if you prefer
the thrills of the slides or want to practice your dives, Lagan
Valley Leisureplex offers some of the most unique leisure
facilities in the British Isles. Bicycles are not an unusual sight
around the city. For visitors and locals alike, Belfast offers
cyclists lots of options to explore. The Lagan and Lough Cycle Way
provides a total of 21 miles of flat, traffic-free, scenic paths,
connecting Lisburn to Newtownabbey and following the beautiful
Lagan Towpath and Belfast Lough.
Belfast is a sports fan’s ideal city. With very little forward
planning no event is ever beyond reach. Fancy a game of golf? Or is
rugby your thing? How about horse or greyhound racing? Then we have
it all and more.
Ice Hockey is our new passion and
we avidly follow the exploits of the Belfast
Giants in their home ground the Odyssey
Arena. Why not squeeze in a game of Gaelic
Football, an exciting mix of soccer and rugby, or catch some
Hurling, it's fast pace and athleticism is sure
to leave you breathless and wanting more. "Ready all, Row" is
a familiar command that echoes across the evening Lagan where
training for competitive rowing is a familiar sight and if sailing
is your thing then Belfast Lough is your playground.
