Saga Pearl II first visit
SAGA PEARL II SAILS
INTO BELFAST FOR THE FIRST
TIME
Kevin Allen from Belfast Harbour, The Lord Mayor of Belfast
Cllr Patrick Convery and Michael McCormick from Belfast Visitor
& Convention Bureau (BVCB) welcomed Captain David
Warden-Owen of the cruise ship Saga Pearl II when it docked in the
city for it's maiden call.
Belfast will welcome 54,500 cruise tourists and crew between now
and the end of October and it is further evidence of the success of
the Cruise Belfast marketing initiative which sees BVCB and the
Port of Belfast working together in attracting international cruise
companies to Belfast and Northern Ireland.
Other cruise ships due to dock in Belfast this summer include
the Crown Princess with 4,400 passengers and crew and the MV Oriana
with around 2,800 passengers.
The Cruise Belfast Initiative is a partnership between BVCB and
the Port of Belfast. BVCB is a public/private partnership funded by
Belfast City Council, NITB and the private sector and is supported
by Diageo NI.
